Bupropion is an aminoketone antidepressant, approved in adults for the treatment of depression and smoking cessation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Controlled trials have demonstrated bupropion’s efficacy for the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in youths as well as in adults (Barrickman et al., 1995; Conners et al., 1996; Wilens et al., 2001).
